The piece is entitled after my great grandmother. I’ve always heard stories of back home that included my great grandmother Miss Ivy, the matriarchal figure of the house. She was wildly respected by those in the community. Her spirit lives on in my grandmother, mother and hopefully in me too.

The concept of visibility yet invisibility for women of colour. Breaking away from idealized beauty standards and embracing who she is. She may be a wallflower but there are layers to her personality also represented by the various colours. Design inspired by illustrator Collin Phillips artworks which use of negative space around the figure's body particular their clothing, to make the viewer fill in the blanks. Commissioned logo for Sheen Lakshmi Daniel new plus size fashion blog. The theme of the logo is Lakshmi- the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. Sheen is depicted as a goddess with modern objects in her hands. Objects that represent her interest and topics that she will address on her blog. Her Caribbean and Indian heritage are also represented by her attire.

Slumberland Comic Strip, commissioned by comic professor Martha Newbigging. The assignment entailed creating a one-page comic showing a dream sequence in two
colours. The style and media for artwork was the student's choice. The artwork had to be prepared for two colour separation using spot channels in photoshop.

Client Professor Bill Suddick of Seneca College.“Lady of the Night Red Wine” was created for Professor Bill Suddick’s advertising project involving beer/wine/spirits labels. The project was two-fold as students were required to create an advertising campaign with the beer/wine/spirits label they made. I decided to create a label that centred on themes of 1920s Hollywood glamour, jazz, and fashion to make an overall elegant design. The design process of the logo involved making quick doddles in Adobe Illustrator that had a good line of action. Once I was satisfied with the drawing I brought the design into Photoshop, coloured the figure in, and then returned to Illustrator to create the rest of the wine mock-up. The idea behind the “Lady of the Night Red Wine” label is to allow primarily female consumers the opportunity to enjoy celebrating their hard earn success.

I started out by sketching a few ideas for the project. The stereo and 150th Canada Celebration themed boxes were my favourites. I went with the boom box design and added the Powerpuff Girls design as a way to pay homage to one of my favourite tv shows as a child.
